Sunday Ratings: Desperate Housewives Has Welcome Return

Despite being down approximately 5% since last year, the retooled Desperate Housewives was easily last night’s best draw. Unfortunately, the show couldn’t fight off the Bears and Eagles alone. NBC - with the help of Sunday Night Football - was once again tops in both categories last night.

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 11: Fierce Eyes

ANTM logo

Just when I thought I had seen everything on , the producers decided to throw in a new twist. And surprisingly, it didn’t have anything to do with Tyra. This week, one girl was eliminated before reaching the show’s halfway mark. (No photo shoot, no judges panel…nada.) Make no mistakes—Season 11’s gonna be ruthless!

In this episode, the women were finally given the chance to show off their version of a runway walk. But since simple strutting down an actual runway would be too easy, Miss J had to spice things up a bit. This time around, the ladies were taken to a bowling alley where they were given special high-heeled bowling shoes. (Cue Hannah: “I didn’t even know they made stuff like that!”) Since models are often asked to walk on different types of surfaces, the challenge was to master the slick bowling lanes.

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 11: You’re Beautiful, Now Change

ANTM logo

What is traditionally one of my favorite parts of was once again tainted by an overdramatic – and unnecessary – Tyra performance. Couldn’t she just let the makeover episode speak for itself? Couldn’t she let the cameras focus on the actual competitors?

When the girls returned home from the last elimination, they were surprised to find their head judge waiting inside for them. While there was a purpose for Tyra’s presence, the hostess used the opportunity to display her tiara and her lame acting skills. After explaining how she and her mother “made over” her modeling career (she turned to Sports Ilustrated when she was deemed too fat by high-fashion designers), she then told the ladies that it was time for their makeovers.

Sunday Ratings: Steelers Steal Win for NBC

Unless you’re willing to count the Big Brother clip show, Sunday Night Football was the only original program after 8pm last night. This lack of competition gave NBC an easy victory in both categories yesterday.

Wednesday Ratings: FOX Comedies Bring Network Down

Despite great numbers for last week’s debut of Bones’ debut last week, FOX saw a decline for Week 2. (Poor performances from the network’s comedies didn’t help.) This allowed NBC to take back both the viewers and the demos yesterday.

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 11: The Ladder of Model Success

ANTM logo

On this week’s episode of , the ladies learned the importance of making a good first impression. One girl said a few things she shouldn’t say, one girl placed a product in a place she shouldn’t put it, and another girl put off her roomies thanks to an off-putting remark.

But what does any of that have to do with modeling, right?

Sunday Ratings: NBC Sacks the Competition

The return of Sunday Night Football wasn’t only a win for the Chicago Bears, it was a victory for NBC. The Peacock network ran past the competition with both the viewers and the demos.

Wednesday Ratings: ANTM Hits New Low

Unfortunately for CW, good luck did not come in threes.  Despite impressive debuts for Gossip Girl and 90210, the 11th cycle of America’s Next Top Model failed to impress. (In the show’s defense, it was pitted against stiff competition.) ANTM‘s performance gave FOX the chance to take over in the viewers and the demos.
